CHABLIS 1er CRU 'VAILLONS' 2015
Justifiably well-known, the left bank premier cru ‘Vaillons’ lies in the center of the great hillside to the southwest of Chablis. Kimmeridgian subsoil and stainless steel tanks give us a wine that is refined and bright, lively and intense, solid and concentrated.
CHABLIS 1er CRU 'MONTMAINS 2015
The Chablis 1er Cru 'Montmains' on the left bank' of the river with south-south-east facing slopes, is entirely on the distictive Chablis Kimmeridgian clay. The goal is to keep the freshness of the fruit, accentuate the floral notes and to bring out the minerality of the sub-soils. This is done with extensive use of stainless steel and no oak. Profound predominantly mineral and lemony aromas. Great round attack. Firmer, lively mid-palate with assertive mineral character. Well-structured and long. Will keep.
CHABLIS 1er CRU 'MONT DE MILIEU' 2015
Chablis 1er Cru 'Mont de Milieu' is a 'right bank' south-facing vineyard, also on Kimmeridgian clay. This vineyard, like the Grand Cru vines, tends to get a bit more sun in the year, and hence can be riper and richer at harvest. For this reason, some of the grapes (usually 20%) are fermented in oak ( barrels are used for 4 years). The rest is fermented as are the other wines of the domain, in stainless tanks. Restrained floral note, ripe pear and lime citrus acidity make a rich, concentrated wine with great grip. Classic 'right bank' mineral typicity.
CHABLIS 1er CRU 'VOSGROS' 2015
Premier cru ‘Vosgros’ on the left bank and above the village of Chichee to the south of Chablis has gained in notoriety in recent years mainly due to the winemaking of this domain, the Domaine Oudin who we also present here and our good friend Didier Picq. Good kimmeridgian subsoil and an excellent southeast exposition give ‘Vosgros’ all the potential it need to be transformed, as it is here into something exceptional. Tender, fresh and pure.
