DAUVISSAT CHABLIS 2015 MIXED CASE
This is Fabien Dauvissat, the new young super-star in Chablis. You have to taste what this guy is doing! We have some great Chablis connections, and this rates right up there at the top. We had to wait to get his 2015 premier crus, but now that the wines are here, it was no hardship. 2015 is a great Chablis vintage: crystalline and pure, mineral and precise. And each one of these four distinct premier cru Chablis is cut like a diamond. No hesitation; we are so lucky to have him on our list!
Here's a 12 bottle mixed case, 3 bottles of each plus Ground Shipping:
Domaine Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 1er Cru ‘Fourchaume’ 2015
Fourchaume is the best known of the Chablis premier crus, perhaps because it is an extension of the Grand Cru vineyards, and benefits from a similar Right Bank exposition. Round, mature fruit, crystalline purity, sweet, lemony acidity classic cool river rock minerality. A classic Chablis premier cru.
Domaine Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 1er Cru ‘Cote de Lechet’ 2015
A classic Cote de Lechet, about as mineral as Chablis can be. This premier cru Cote de Lechet is a model of Left Bank precision, razor sharp, with juicy, mouth-watering acidity. A characteristic floral attack and gun-flint smokiness fill the mid-palate, and the finish is bright berry fruit and long, long minerality
Domaine Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 1er Cru ‘Montmains’ 2015
Montmains, a Left Bank Chablis premier cru, is perhaps the best ‘all-around’ example of what Chablis should be. It comes from a very rocky soil which gives a very pronounced minerality with extraordinary power and good aging potential. At the same time, it is ample, full and round. It can be tight in its youth, but is characteristically exuberant and vivacious.
Domaine Jean Dauvissat Pere et Fils Chablis 1er Cru ‘Vaillons’ 2015
This Chablis 1er Cru ‘Vaillons’ is remarkable for its limpidity; it catches light and reflects it like a jewel. Vigorous and full, this is a big wine with fat decadent spicy fruit and deep lingering minerality. Balanced and precise from the attack, through the mid-palate to the long finish, this is a very well-made wine.
